Portrait of the artist Beth DanbyThe letter Welcome to my website!
I am Beth, an artist, maker, martian and writer from the North East of England. I grew up in North Shields within earshot of the river mouth foghorn and nightshift shipyard workers on the Tyne, whose welders’ torches threw flashes around my bedroom walls. River and sea therefore have inspired much of my art and craftwork; I resided for many years in Cornwall overlooking Mount Edgcumbe, in Devon within walking distance to Plymouth Hoe, and also on the North East coast in Whitley Bay, Blyth, Cambois, and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea. Nowadays I live a stones throw from the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle upon Tyne.

As well as exhibiting, making pretty things and writing I can be found at my stall, hiding behind a book, at Tynemouth Station Market, and beyond.

A degree, not in academics but of irrevocable brain-damage can often thwart literary skill; nevertheless it can be said at times, that my writings resemble Chaucer. And herewith near verbatim in the great bard’s words, is this: Myn Litel Website. Now all that's left to say is, if monochrome's your bag, this site certainly won't be.
